偽りの微笑み/エイジア(1983)

当時，「ベスト・ヒットUSA」でこのグループの結成を知ったとき，耳を疑いました。
元キング・クリムゾン，UK，ロキシー・ミュージックのジョン・ウェットン，バグルス，イエスのジェフリー・ダウンズ，エマーソン，レイク＆パーマー（EL&P)のカール・パーマー，イエスのスティーブ・ハウ！
当然のごとく？輸入レコード店の入荷を待って「Asia」買ってきました（その後，CDに買い換えるはめに…余談ですが，レコードからCDへの世代交代の波が押し寄せた時，初めて買ったCDは，このエイジアの「Astra」でした）。

このThe smile has left your eyes（ジョン・ウェットン作詞・作曲），内容は「修羅場」ですが，ビデオは哀しい仕立てになってます。このPVが欲しくて，後述の「20th Century Masters: Dvd Collection」を即購入！いまでも私的ヘビー・ローテーションとなっております。
